Buy, Bring, Brag at Farmers Market at the Capitol!

July 18, 2019 | Uncategorized

The Farmers Markets at the Capitol are a staple of downtown Lansing’s summer landscape. The market offers the smell of local floral bouquets, the sweet taste of vine-ripened produce, and so much more. Shoppers have a cornucopia of products to choose from including fresh produce, jams, jellies, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, meat, salsas, dips, pickled products, soaps and more. Visitors can also take advantage of numerous food trucks throughout the market day parked along Capitol Avenue. This year’s markets will also feature musical performances, yoga, and cooking demonstrations.

The Michigan Farmers Market Association is hosting three markets again this year, rain or shine, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Thursday, July 25

  • Thursday, August 22

  • Thursday, September 19

Each year, vendors from across the state set-up shop on the Capitol lawn to offer you a chance to buy Michigan-grown and processed products.

Buying locally, you receive fresher high-quality foods and these purchases support our state’s farmers, agri-businesses, rural communities, and economy. Whether this is your first trip, or you are returning for the market’s 14th season, please stop by and get a taste of Michigan agriculture.
