The Michigan Farmers Market Association is proud to announce that we have received a Food Safety Education Fund grant through the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD). MIFMA will receive $28,463 in funding from MDARD to support statewide consumer food safety education and outreach on cannabis products sold at farmers markets in Michigan.

MIFMA will proactively work with MDARD to disseminate information to market managers, farmers and vendors, and the public regarding the emerging field of the sale of hemp, CBD, and recreational marijuana products at Michigan farmers markets. Timely education and information sharing will be key to ensuring the legal and safe introduction of these products to Michigan farmers markets.
