Farmers Market Community and Sales Representative

We're looking for someone fun, communicative, and easy going, with a vested interest in health and wellbeing.

This position is a customer facing role which involves developing relationships with the community and selling Ojas Balls at a farmers market. The job will take place on Saturdays at the Royal Oak Farmers Market between the hours of 6 am - 2 pm. Responsibilities will be display set up, take down and sales. We will provide educational training on our offerings, values, sales process, etc. The style of work is relatively informal, requires standing, and a high level of engagement with market attendees and regular customers. This position requires being capable of lifting 25 lbs. The position commences as soon as possible.

Knowledge of Ayurveda is preferred but not required.

Ojas is a Sanskrit word which roughly translates to immunity or vitality. It's an energetic reserve that fuels one's passion for life. In the Ayurvedic tradition, lack of digestion leads to disease. On the contrary, good digestion promotes Ojas.

At Ojas Balls, we make ayurvedically inspired date-based treats. They are gluten free, dairy free, plant based, naturally sweetened, vegan, and contain Ayurvedic herbs.

We seek to promote noticing the effects of foods on our moment to moment experience and to not downplay the context in which we eat (i.e. our emotions, the setting, and the company with which we share food and experience).
