Each year, the Michigan Farmers Market Association (MIFMA) gathers together farmers market managers and partners who work to increase healthy food access through Michigan farmers markets. The goal of the meeting is to share the successes and challenges faced and to learn what is on the horizon for food access initiatives at farmers markets in 2016.
You are Invited to Attend:
Farmers market managers who accept food assistance benefits like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Double Up Food Bucks, WIC Project FRESH, Market FRESH for Seniors and Hoophouses for Health (among others) are invited to attend. We also invite partners and stakeholders who work with and support these markets in their efforts to increase food access.
Please note, for market managers interested in starting to accept food assistance benefits like the ones listed above, this will not be a training on how to do so. Those learning opportunities will come in early 2016!
Two meetings will be held:
Monday, November 9 at the Little Bear East Areana in St. Ignace from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, November 12 at Eastern Market in Detroit from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, November 12 at Eastern Market in Detroit from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
