Spring has officially arrived and that means vendor and nonprofit applications for the 2019 Farmers Markets at the Capitol are set to open soon! These events are designed to provide a thriving marketplace that showcases Michigan food and agricultural products in an effort to educate our state decision-makers on the importance of supporting farmers, ag-based businesses, and farmers markets.
Applications are accepted from vendors who produce and sell Michigan food and farm products and nonprofit organizations that support the mission of these markets. For the purpose of these markets, Michigan food and farm products are defined as products grown, raised, or gathered in Michigan or value-added products processed in Michigan that include ingredients grown, raised or gathered in Michigan. Preference will be given to vendors who showcase a majority of Michigan ingredients. Applications for vendors and nonprofit participants are open to members of MIFMA annually from April 1 to May 1 and will be available at www.mifma.org/fmatthecapitol/.
Please contact Farmers Market at the Capitol Coordinator Josh Prusik at josh@mifma.org or call the MIFMA office at (517) 432-3381 if you have any questions about participating in the market(s).
